Seniors Playing Pickleball 2
One of the fastest growing sports! Combines skills of tennis, racquetball, badminton and a bit of ping pong! We use large paddles and a pickleball (basically an oversized wiffleball) in a court measured 20 feet by 44 feet. But you need to stay out of the "Kitchen"! A bit of finesse or power keeps the game quite interesting.

Beginner Level Play- Beginner pickleball players have a very basic understanding of the rules and strategy of pickleball and have some basic shots (such as a serve, return, medium paced drive, and dinks), but have limited consistency and control. A staff member is onsite to help teach the game!

Intermediate Play– pickleball players have a good understanding of the rules and strategy of pickleball and have both forehand and backhand shots (including drop shots, backhand shots, and volleys), which are generally consistent with a moderate number of unforced errors.

Pickleball is only open to residents at this time. Intermediate players that have NOT been evaluated by our staff members need to contact the Recreation Supervisor for program registration approval at 508-841-8503 or ggrindle@shrewsburyma.gov
