Shrewsbury Rec Winter Youth Basketball League is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8.
Our league welcomes all skill levels and promotes exercise, teamwork, good sportsmanship, and building the skills and confidence associated with basketball while promoting healthy competition. Open to Shrewsbury residents only.
No try-outs! Teams are created by the Recreation Department to promote fair and even play to the best of our ability based on a few questions asked during the registration process.

Location: Various School Gyms for weeknight practices beginning the week of December 1.
Saturday Games will be located at Shrewsbury High School beginning December 6.

Grades 3 - 8 (2025/2026 school grade is used to determine eligibility)

Cost: $165 per participant (cost does not include the reversible jersey, if you have one from last year no need to buy another!)

Registration is open from August 19 at 10 am through October 31 at 4:30 pm.
Late registrations may not be accepted.

Practices- There are NO practices when schools are closed due to holidays, school vacations and weather cancellations. Basketball will not be held on days when after school activities are canceled (due to weather)

Please Note: Practice and game schedules are based on enrollment and will be determined by November 7. Scheduling or coach preferences/requests will not be honored due to the volume of participants.
Basketball Refund Policy: Refunds are possible with e-mail receipt/confirmation by November 14th, minus $15 administration fee. After November 14th, if you cancel anytime before the first practice you will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be given after the first practice. 
*No refunds on jerseys. Separate link will be provided after registration closes.

Volunteer Coaches and Assistant Coaches- *Parent volunteer coaches are needed to ensure this league runs! Please consider volunteering to coach your child’s team! We do provide additional guidance/training for parents that would like to coach but do not have coaching experience. All coaches need to fill out a CORI background check each year for our department.
*Coaches orientation will be held on Tuesday, November 11th.
