Class Descriptions:

Beginner 1:

Players new or nearly new to the game of pickleball.  Class will center on basic technical aspects to successfully play the game of pickleball.  In addition to rules of play, focus will include techniques for effective forehand shots, backhand shots, dinks, drops, serves, and return of serves.  Class will also cover the more tactical skills of court positioning, transitions to non-volley zone, and non-volley zone play.  Goal of class is to give players skills needed to reach the 2.5 player level.

Beginner 2:

Players who have completed a Beginner 1 pickleball course or have equivalent skills.  Class will center on both the technical and tactical skills needed to advance from a 2.5 to a 3.0 player.  Focus includes hitting medium paced serves and volleys with direction and consistency; learning and using drop shots to reset game play and open shot opportunities; court positioning in different scenarios; understanding how to identify your strengths and your opponent's weaknesses to maximize point opportunities; and how to compete in a pickleball tournament.

Intermediate:
This class level is for the player who already has a basic understanding of the game and are trying to get to the next level. Focus will be on more effectively using challenging shots like the drop shot, increasing control on your shot placement, running set plays and scenarios, as well as developing more power in shots. Geared towards those who are solid 2.75 or 3.0 players and wanting to play more competitively and/or play in tournaments. Tournament play will be covered in this session.
