Adaptive Pickleball • Register • View Cart •

Our new adaptive pickleball program for teens and adults is designed to make the sport of pickleball accessible to individuals with physical, cognitive, or developmental disabilities. This inclusive program offers tailored instruction, equipment, and gameplay modifications to ensure all participants, regardless of ability level, can enjoy the sport.
The program focuses on:

  1. Skill Development: Participants receive guidance in fundamental pickleball skills like serving, volleying, and rallying, with adjustments based on each individual’s needs and abilities. Instruction may be delivered in small groups or one-on-one settings to provide personalized attention.
  2. Physical Fitness and Fun: The program promotes physical activity and helps improve coordination, agility, and motor skills in a fun and engaging way. Emphasis is placed on enjoyment, teamwork, and sportsmanship rather than competition.
  3. Social Engagement: Participants have the opportunity to connect with peers in a supportive and welcoming environment. This fosters a sense of community, confidence, and improved communication skills.
  4. Certified Instructors: Certified Pickleball Instructor Suzanne Cox has experience working with individuals with diverse abilities and will provide individualized support and ensure that all participants are engaged safely and effectively in the game.
By removing barriers and encouraging inclusive play, the adaptive pickleball program offers a fun and meaningful way for teens and adults with disabilities to stay active, learn new skills, and build relationships.

Please wear athletic clothing and sneakers with non-marking soles.
Bring a water bottle.
Bringing your own pickleball paddle is suggested, although we have a few loaners if you need to borrow one. 

Participants new to Rec Connect programming will be required to fill out a Support Questionnaire and connect with us before attending.
