REGISTRATION FOR REC SUMMER OPENS AT 8AM ON TUESDAY, MARCH 4!

Weeks A-G (June 23 - August 8)
Program Time: 8:30 am - 4 pm, Monday - Friday
Ages: 5-10 (children must be in this age range prior to their first day of Rec Summer)
Cost: $365 Resident / $390 Non-Resident
AM Care: 7:30-8:30 am, 5 days, $40 R/$50 NR
PM Care: 4:00-5:30 pm, 5 days, $60 R / $75 NR
Location: Floral Street Elementary School

Rec Summer is a fun and engaging way to spend the summer! Each week will be a different theme with creative activities and visitors to match.
Water activities, field trips, visiting entertainers, arts and crafts and classic group games make Rec Summer a great option for keeping kids off screens, socializing with others, and learning new things!

Weekly Structure:
Mondays: Small group and all camp activities
Tuesdays/Thursdays: 
Morning: Small group games & activities
Afternoon: Swimming or water activities 
Wednesdays: 
Ages 7-10 & CITs: Field trip
Ages 5-6: Visiting entertainer
Friday: Visiting entertainer or inflatable & THEME DAY!

Children will be placed into small groups based on age. Requests for being in groups with friends or specific counselors, or moving groups for personal or social preference reasons, will not be accepted. Opportunities to interact with kids in other groups will arise throughout the week. We encourage kids to make new friends and enjoy their unique group each week! 

*Please note, all entertainers, swimming opportunities and field trips are subject to change at any time due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. Refunds cannot be issued for such changes. We will give families as much notice as possible to plan for changes. Waivers and permission slips may need to be filled out per activity/trip.
*Weekly emails with specific information will be sent to those registered.

Week B: Superhero Week *4 day week. Prorated cost is $292.

Visitor: Animal Adventures
On-Site Field Trip (Ages 5-6): Ecotarium

**Rec Summer Refund Policy:
-Registration for Rec Summer opens on March 4, 2025
-Registrant-initiated cancellations must be requested via email to parkrec@shrewsburyma.gov
-From March 4 - April 30, all cancellations will be subject to a $50 admin fee per week per child cancelled. The remainder can be refunded in the form of a household account credit for use on future programs or via Town issued check which may take up to 30 days to receive. 
-From May 1 - May  31, cancellations will be receive a 50% refund only for each week per child. 
-From June 1 - August 22 refunds will NOT be granted for Rec Summer cancellations in any amount. MAY 31 is the last day to cancel registrations for Rec Summer to receive any type of refund. 
-If your schedule has changed, and there is a spot open in another week of Rec Summer, you may request to transfer weeks at no additional charge. 
-AM & PM care cancellations will be subject to a $5 (each) admin fee (per week) and will be refunded in the form of household account credits ONLY. 
-If the Recreation Department needs to cancel Rec Summer programs/weeks for any reason, you will receive a FULL refund via your choice of account credit or Town-issued check.
