Age: 15 and up.Date and Location: Saturday, Dec 7th at Bowlero in AuburnTime: 9:00am to 11:30amRegional Qualifier: Sunday, February, 16 in AuburnState Games: Sunday, February, 16 in AuburnRegistration is capped at 24. Preference is given to Shrewsbury residents or current members of the program as long as you register by the deadline. Please NOTE: If you are registering for bowling, we are assuming that you are planning to bowl in the state tournament. Additionally: If you also sign up for basketball and you have a League Play basketball game the same day as the Regional Qualifier, the expectation is that as you have committed to a team, you will participate in the team sport and not the individual sport.  There is only one qualifying round before the state tournament. You must participate in the qualifying round to qualify for the final tournament. Participation in the state tournament is based on your attendance at practice and the result of your bowling in the qualifier. Unfortunately, it may be that everyone will qualify for the state tournament - that depends on how well you bowl in the qualifier. The regional qualifier for will be held Sunday, February 16 in Auburn. The State Games, for those who qualify, will be Sunday, March 16 in Auburn.

Last practice Monday February 24, 2025.Note: Lift tickets provided for all practices and state finals.Location: Ski Ward, Shrewsbury MAState Final: Friday February 28, 2025 at Berkshire East in Charlemont, MA.Registration is limited. Preference given to Shrewsbury residents or current members of the program as long as you register by the deadline.NOTE: This is not a learn to ski program. Shrewsbury Recreation has once again partnered with our local US Take Kwon Do Center to offer martial arts classes to a variety of ages at an affordable price. Classes will take place at their location: 370 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury*For new members only!You will receive your first uniform at no additional charge.We hope that learning martial arts at US Tae Kwon Do centers will be a rewarding activity with physical and mental benefits that will last a lifetime. What is Tae Kwon Do and how is it different from other martial arts? The different martial arts all originated in different countries thousands of years ago as forms of self-defense. For example, Karate comes from Japan, Kung Fu from China and Tae Kwon Do is native to Korea.In terms of martial art techniques, Tae Kwon Do emphasizes kicks more than other martial arts, making it ideal for improving your child's strength, balance, flexibility and endurance.Little Tigers: Ages 3-5The purpose of this program is to develop your child's confidence by letting them discover what they can accomplish on their own. Also, it helps to prepare them for preschool and kindergarten by interacting with other students and developing a sense of teamwork and discipline.Children White Belt: Ages 6-12Through a carefully structured curriculum, experienced instructors will introduce fundamental Tae Kwon Do techniques and principles in a fun and engaging manner. From mastering basic kicks and punches to learning proper stances and forms, your child will develop a solid foundation in Tae Kwon Do while improving their balance, coordination, and flexibility.But Tae Kwon Do is more than just physical exercise – it's also about cultivating important life skills such as respect, self-control, and perseverance. In our classes, students will not only learn how to defend themselves but also how to respect themselves and others, both inside and outside the dojang.Teen/Adult Class: Ages 13+Tae Kwon Do is safe and fun for students of all ages and physical abilities. Classes are supervised by expert instructors and all students are taught techniques in a step-by-step manner and at their own pace. A thorough stretching routine, matted flooring, and the use of protective safety equipment are all part of our commitment to ensuring student safety. At the U.S. Tae Kwon Do Centers, beginners are always welcome and we make it easy for new students of all fitness levels to get started. In addition, the belt system used in Tae Kwon Do allows all students to train at their own pace and improve their physical condition gradually.

This unique program is designed to blend creativity, teamwork, and fundamental golf skills into an engaging experience.  Children will learn putting technique through fun drills and games working to improve accuracy, control, and mastering the basics.  As the program progresses, we will work in teams to design and build new holes every week with fun themes to jump start children’s creativity and imagination.   Teamwork, creative problem solving, and hands on learning and play all rolled into one.  Whether your child is a budding golf pro or just looking for a creative adventure, this program is sure to be a hole in one! Please bring a water bottle.   Multi-Sport (Basketball, Dodgeball, Soccer) Multi-Sport programs are designed to introduce young athletes to a variety of different sports in one setting. Athletes will learn the rules and essential skills of each sport, along with vital life lessons such as sportsmanship, inclusion and teamwork. Our league welcomes all skill levels and promotes exercise, teamwork, good sportsmanship, and building the skills and confidence associated with basketball while promoting healthy competition. Parent volunteer coaches are needed to ensure this league runs!*Open to Shrewsbury Residents only.$155 to register (not including jersey)*An online jersey shop will be available after registrationRegistration opens September 9th at 12pmRegistration closes OCTOBER 21 at 4:30 pmGrades 3-8Practice once a week, beginning week of December 3rd.Practices will be on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings. Practices are 1 hour long between the hours of 6:15pm and 8:15pm at either Floral Street, Beal School, or Sherwood Middle. Youngest grades will have first practice time slot (time slot TBD).Games will be held on Saturdays at Shrewsbury High School, beginning December 7th through February 8th pending snow days (no games on 12/28 and 1/4)There are a limited number of spots available.The program is first come, first serve, limited space. Updated Household InformationParticipants are responsible for contacting the office to update household information before registration begins. The recreation department will not hold/add spots for households that have missing/incorrect information.Practices- There are NO practices when schools are closed due to holidays, school vacations and weather cancellations. Preference is given to Shrewsbury residents or current members of the program as long as you register by the deadline. Please NOTE: If you are registering for bowling, we are assuming that you are planning to bowl in the state tournament. Additionally: If you also sign up for basketball and you have a League Play basketball game the same day as the Regional Qualifier, the expectation is that as you have committed to a team, you will participate in the team sport and not the individual sport.  There is only one qualifying round before the state tournament. You must participate in the qualifying round to qualify for the final tournament. Participation in the state tournament is based on your attendance at practice and the result of your bowling in the qualifier. Unfortunately, it may be that everyone will qualify for the state tournament - that depends on how well you bowl in the qualifier. The regional qualifier for will be held Sunday, February 16 in Auburn. The State Games, for those who qualify, will be Sunday, March 16 in Auburn.
