Shrewsbury Recreation has once again partnered with our local US Take Kwon Do Center to offer martial arts classes to a variety of ages at an affordable price. Classes will take place at their location: 370 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury*This program is offered for new members only! After your session is over you can sign up directly with the US Take Kwon Do CenterYou will receive your first uniform at no additional charge.We hope that learning martial arts at US Tae Kwon Do centers will be a rewarding activity with physical and mental benefits that will last a lifetime. What is Tae Kwon Do and how is it different from other martial arts? The different martial arts all originated in different countries thousands of years ago as forms of self-defense. Powerlifting!    Our Program is embarking on a new sport this season thanks to Coach John Keller, who previously coached a Special Olympics Powerlifting Team in North Dakota. Coach John, who also coaches Track and Field, has offered up his time to volunteer and coach a powerlifting team for Shrewsbury!    Details:  You must be 16 to participate and we will only be accepting 10 - 12 athletes. This will not be a "drop - in" sport, as it takes time to learn and gain skills and experience.    Location: Notre Dame Academy 425 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA  Start Date: Sunday, April 6th  Time: 6:00PM - 7:15PM  State Tournament: Saturday, June 7th at Harvard University   What to Wear - for those planning to participate in competition, we will purchase for you, the singlets required for competition.

Shrewsbury Recreation has once again partnered with our local US Take Kwon Do Center to offer martial arts classes to a variety of ages at an affordable price. Classes will take place at their location: 370 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury*This program is offered for new members only! After your session is over you can sign up directly with the US Take Kwon Do CenterYou will receive your first uniform at no additional charge.We hope that learning martial arts at US Tae Kwon Do centers will be a rewarding activity with physical and mental benefits that will last a lifetime. What is Tae Kwon Do and how is it different from other martial arts? The different martial arts all originated in different countries thousands of years ago as forms of self-defense. What is Tae Kwon Do and how is it different from other martial arts? The different martial arts all originated in different countries thousands of years ago as forms of self-defense.
