9:30 AM - 10:15 AM    Zumbini - Zumbini w/ Caregiver
WHAT IS ZUMBINI:  Zumbini is an early childhood education program for children ages 0-5. Created by Zumba and BabyFirst, our program uses music and movement to promote cognitive, social, emotional, and motor skill development for the children, all while creating the ultimate bonding experience for them and their caregivers. During this 45-minute session, we will use Latin-Fusion music to explore elements of dance and music. Each child will have access to instruments such as Bongos, Boom Whackers, Rhythm Sticks, and Scarves!    YOUR ZUMBINI INSTRUCTOR: Your instructor for this session will be Michelle Lirange. Michelle has worked in both Early Childhood and Education throughout her life. Most recently she worked for the Worcester Public Schools as a Wraparound Coordinator. After having her son, she realized the need for opportunities for her young child to play, explore, and engage with not only her but other children. Zumbini is the perfect opportunity for both, so she took the time to become a certified Zumbini Instructor. She is excited to lead this class!

WHAT IS ZUMBINI:  Zumbini is an early childhood education program for children ages 0-5.

For example, Karate comes from Japan, Kung Fu from China and Tae Kwon Do is native to Korea. In terms of martial art techniques, Tae Kwon Do emphasizes kicks more than other martial arts, making it ideal for improving your child's strength, balance, flexibility and endurance.Little Tigers: Ages 3-5The purpose of this program is to develop your child's confidence by letting them discover what they can accomplish on their own. Also, it helps to prepare them for preschool and kindergarten by interacting with other students and developing a sense of teamwork and discipline.Children White Belt: Ages 6-12Through a carefully structured curriculum, experienced instructors will introduce fundamental Tae Kwon Do techniques and principles in a fun and engaging manner. From mastering basic kicks and punches to learning proper stances and forms, your child will develop a solid foundation in Tae Kwon Do while improving their balance, coordination, and flexibility. But Tae Kwon Do is more than just physical exercise – it's also about cultivating important life skills such as respect, self-control, and perseverance. In our classes, students will not only learn how to defend themselves but also how to respect themselves and others, both inside and outside the dojang.Teen/Adult Class: Ages 13+Tae Kwon Do is safe and fun for students of all ages and physical abilities. Classes are supervised by expert instructors and all students are taught techniques in a step-by-step manner and at their own pace. A thorough stretching routine, matted flooring, and the use of protective safety equipment are all part of our commitment to ensuring student safety. At the U.S. Tae Kwon Do Centers, beginners are always welcome and we make it easy for new students of all fitness levels to get started. 5:10 PM - 5:40 PM    Tae Kwon Do - Little Tigers Tae Kwon Do
Shrewsbury Recreation has once again partnered with our local US Take Kwon Do Center to offer martial arts classes to a variety of ages at an affordable price. Classes will take place at their location: 370 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury*This program is offered for new members only! What is Tae Kwon Do and how is it different from other martial arts? The different martial arts all originated in different countries thousands of years ago as forms of self-defense. What is Tae Kwon Do and how is it different from other martial arts? The different martial arts all originated in different countries thousands of years ago as forms of self-defense. In addition, the belt system used in Tae Kwon Do allows all students to train at their own pace and improve their physical condition gradually.
